Jessy Caron |
|
Jessy
Caron has been an outpatient physical therapist assistant
with Southeastern Med for two years. Jessy graduated from
Meadowbrook High School in 2002 and continued her education
at Salt Lake Community College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She
graduated with her Associate of Applied Science degree in
2005 and began practicing as a physical therapist
assistant. Jessy has received advanced training in aquatic
therapy.
Jessy enjoys four wheeling,
spending time with family and friends, decorating her new
home and playing with her chocolate Labrador Gonzo. |

Dominic Crock |
|
Dominic
Crock has been a physical therapist with Southeastern Med
since 2002. Dominic graduated from Caldwell High School in
1994. He graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University with a
Bachelors of Science degree in Biology in 1998. Dominic
began his study of physical therapy at Slippery Rock
University and graduated in 2002 with his Doctor of Physical
Therapy Degree. Dominic became a Board Certified Specialist
in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy in 2007. Dominic is
currently the Clinical Leader of Audiology and Speech
Therapy. He also provides patient care as an outpatient
physical therapist with advanced knowledge in vestibular
rehabilitation, orthopaedics and industrial medicine.
Dominic is married to his
wife Amy and lives in West Lafayette. Dominic is an avid
pilot and enjoys traveling and various outdoor activities. |

Rachelle Gadd |
|
Rachelle
Gadd has been employed at Southeastern Med for three years
as a physical therapy aide. She is also a certified
Arthritis Foundation instructor and manages the Arthritis
and Pediatric Aquatic Classes. Rachelle is a certified
lifeguard and has specialized training in advanced aquatic
exercise. She also assists Speech and Audiology with their
clerical needs
Rachelle resides in
Byesville with her husband Patrick and three children,
Christian (15), Tyler (14) and Eliza (11). |

Rob Fehrman |
|
Rob
Fehrman has been employed by Southeastern Med since 2007.
Rob graduated from Meadowbrook High School in 1996 and went
to Bowling Green University on a Division I Athletic
Scholarship for football. Rob served as co-captain of the
football team, gaining valuable leadership experience. He
graduated from Bowling Green in 2001 with a Bachelor of
Science in Communication Disorders. Rob then had the
opportunity to continue his football career, signing as a
free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rob chose to begin
his physical therapy career at Wheeling Jesuit University,
graduating in 2007 with his Doctor of Physical Therapy
degree. Rob enjoys working with athletes and strives to
provide a challenging, educational and motivating
rehabilitation environment to encourage his patients’ return
to success. It is Rob’s desire to eventually acquire his
Certification of Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
and Sports Physical Therapist Specialist credentials.
Through these certifications Rob is looking forward to
providing a more diversified approach to area sport teams
and outreach to communities for fitness education. |

Breanna Hagan |
|
Breanna
Hagan has been employed by Southeastern Med’s Sports
Medicine and Rehabilitation Department as an outpatient
physical therapist for two years. Breanna began her
physical therapy career at Ohio University where she
received her bachelors degree in exercise physiology. She
then spent three years working toward her Doctor of Physical
Therapy degree. Breanna has become a viable part of the
rehab team and continues to help the clinic grow and advance
in the care that is provided. Breanna is the pediatric
therapist for the clinic and recently received her CLT
(Complex Lymphedema Therapist). She obtained this
certification after attending an intense four day program
where she learned the anatomy of the lymphatic system, as
well as very specialized manual lymphatic drainage
techniques and advanced knowledge in compression garments.
Her skills will be able to benefit the community in
addressing all types of cancer-related lymphedema, vascular
swelling, chronic venous insufficiency, and orthopedic
swelling.
Breanna currently resides
outside of Barnesville with her dog Rocco, who she rescued
from the animal shelter. In her spare time, she loves going
on walks, hiking and horse back riding with Rocco. She also
enjoys riding motorcycles, four wheeler riding, snow skiing,
whitewater rafting, and anything adventurous.

Shannon Mitchell |
|
Shannon
Harbaugh began her employment at Southeastern Med in 2002.
She graduated from Meadowbrook High School in 1997 and from
University of Cincinnati in 2001 with her Bachelor of
Science in Physical Therapy. Shannon obtained her Doctor of
Physical Therapy degree from AT Still University in Mesa,
Arizona in 2005. She became a Board Certified Specialist in
Orthopaedic Physical Therapy in 2007. Shannon has served as
the Director of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation at
Southeastern Med since 2004. She also provides outpatient
physical therapy, specializing in orthopaedic treatment.
Shannon is a member of the
American Physical Therapy Association, having served as the
Central District Chair of the Reimbursement Committee. She
is also active in the community, currently serving on the
Cambridge Area YMCA Board of Directors. Shannon enjoys
running and outdoor activities. |

Diane Lyons |
|
Diane
Lyons has been employed by Southeastern Med’s Sports
Medicine and Rehabilitation Department for 12 years. She
graduated from Buckeye Trail High School and attended Ohio
University and Stark Technical College in North Canton where
she earned an Associates Degree in Physical Therapy
Assisting. Diane has worked 19 years in the physical
therapy field with experience in outpatient, skilled care,
acute care, home health, mental retardation and
developmental disabilities, and mental health. Diane
currently is an integral part of the inpatient
rehabilitation team, where her caring and patient nature is
vital for patients’ improvement. Diane also serves on the
Patient Safety Committee for Southeastern Med, where her
input and suggestions help ensure that all care is provided
in the safest manner possible.

Ryan McConkey |
|
Ryan
McConkey has been with Southeastern Med since 2003. After
graduating from Muskingum College in 1994, Ryan earned his
Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah
University in 1997. In 2005, Ryan earned his Doctor of
Physical Therapy degree from Shenandoah University. Prior
to coming to Southeastern Med, Ryan worked for a private
physical therapy practice in the Cincinnati area for six
years focusing on orthopaedic physical therapy. Ryan is
currently an outpatient physical therapist at the Brick
Church Road Facility and also serves as the inservice and
clinical education coordinator. Southeastern Med offers
clinical education opportunities for students from numerous
colleges and universities, including Zane State College,
Washington State Community College, Ohio State University,
Ohio University, and Wheeling Jesuit. Ryan became a Board
Certified Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy in
2007. He is also a credentialed clinical instructor through
the American Physical Therapy Association and has been a
clinical instructor for 10 years. Ryan has membership in
the American Physical Therapy Association and in the
Orthopaedic Section.
Ryan and his wife Jana live
in Cambridge. They have two children, Tess and Jay Tyler.
Ryan’s hobbies include basketball, jogging and spending time
with his family. |

Joseph Ogle |
|
Joseph
Ogle has been a physical therapist with Southeastern Med
since 2001. Joe graduated from Caldwell High School in
1991. He graduated from Ohio University and obtained his
Master of Physical Therapy degree from Andrews University in
Dayton, Ohio in 2001. Joe became a Board Certified
Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy in 2007. He is
currently Clinical Coordinator of Industrial Medicine and
works extensively with area businesses regarding safety and
injury management in the workforce. Joe also provides
patient care as an outpatient physical therapist with
advanced knowledge in work-related injuries and ergonomics,
functional capacity evaluations and various orthopaedic
populations.
Joe is married to his wife
Karin and they have three sons, Harrison, Mason and
Anderson. Joe is active in the community serving on the
Cambridge Little League Board of Directors and coaches
Cambridge Biddy League Football. |

Patty Pearson |
|
Patty
Pearson graduated from Marquette University in 1989 with her
Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. She joined
Southeastern Med’s Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation team
in 1996 and currently works in acute care. Patty is very
involved in the orientation of new associates at
Southeastern Med, teaching them proper body mechanics and
safe lifting techniques. Patty is very thorough with her
inpatient rehabilitation, making it her mission to assure
patients will be functional and safe once discharged from
the hospital.
Patty is originally from
Pittsburgh, PA and currently lives in Cambridge with her
husband Randy and their two children. |

David Shores |

David
Shores has been a physical therapist assistant with
Southeastern Med for 13 years. He graduated from Stark
State College of Technology in 1986 with his Associate
Degree of Applied Science. Dave has experience in multiple
settings, such as home health, long term care facilities,
skilled rehabilitation, acute care, and outpatient. Dave
currently works as an outpatient physical therapist
assistant at our Brick Church Road Facility.
Dave lives with his wife
Jan. He enjoys weight lifting, working on cars, hunting and
fishing. |

Gus Smalley |

Gus
Smalley has been employed as an outpatient physical
therapist assistant with Southeastern Med for three years.
He graduated from Zane State College in 2002 with an
Associate of Applied Science degree. Gus has had additional
training in vestibular rehabilitation and manual therapy.

with his wife Melissa and their two children, their daughter
Reece is 6 and son Xander is 1. |

David Winland |
|
David
Winland has been employed at Southeastern Med for 27 years.
David began his employment as an orderly on the
medical-surgical unit, where he learned many useful patient
care techniques. He transferred to the Sports Medicine and
Rehabilitation Department in 1985 and currently assists with
inpatient acute care rehabilitation. His cheerful
disposition is instrumental in patients’ road to recovery.

Occupational Therapists |

Mary Davis |
|
Mary
Davis is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
and has been with Southeastern Med since 2003. She received
her Associates degree of Applied Sciences from Zane State
College (formally MATC). Mary has been a licensed
Occupational Therapy Assistant since 1996 working at a
neighboring hospital and then joining the Southeastern Med
team. During her years of practice, Mary has gained a
background knowledge in neurological rehabilitation,
cognitive rehabilitation, educating the community on
arthritis and exercise, proper lifting techniques, low
vision therapy, compression stocking measurements,
functional handwriting skills for children and fine motor
activities, family and patient education about home safety
and adaptive technologies. Mary is an active member of the
Occupational Therapy profession, serving as a clinical
supervisor for students attending Occupational Therapy
schools and sits on the Zane State Occupational Therapy
Assistant Advisory Board. She was the Program Chairman for
the 2004 Ohio Occupational Therapy Association State
Conference held at Zane State College and took the Southeast
District Chair in 2005 for the Ohio Occupational Therapy
Association. Mary was recently accepted in to the 2007-2008
Metropolitan Who’s Who Among Professionals.
Mary enjoys reading, cross
stitching and making no-sew blankets, country music, line
dancing, square dancing, fishing, camping, NASCAR and
participating in her church prayer group. Most
of all, she takes pleasure in spending time with her family
and friends. Mary and her husband Brian reside in
Cumberland with their daughters, Emma and the late Sarah
Grace. |

Marcie Haney |
|
Marcie
Haney has been an Occupational Therapist since 2001. She
received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Allied Health
from Ohio State University with magna cum laude honors. At
OSU, Marcie was treasurer of her Student AOTA during the
1999 – 2000 school year, and was a recipient of the College
of Allied Health’s Merit Award. She has worked in various
settings such as acute care, skilled nursing facilities,
rehab, outpatient and home health. Marcie joined
Southeastern Med’s team of therapists in 2005 and is
currently providing home health services to our community
and surrounding areas. Marcie feels her greatest strengths
are in working with patients in the intensive care unit
(ICU) as well as with our aging population and in home
health care. She is passionate about home
modification/universal design as well as ergonomics within
the home to assist clients in achieving greater independence
with work, play and self-care. Marcie brings a wealth of
knowledge and encouragement to each and every one of her
clients she works with.
In Marcie’s words,
“I feel like I can really make
a difference in clients lives by going to their homes. I
can see first hand what they need and what’s important to
them. I am not only able to focus on helping them better
their health, but also making their home environment safer.
You become a part of their everyday lives and at times may
be the only person they have contact with that day. “
Marcie is a proud mother of
two boys, Ethan and Evan and married to Todd Haney. They
live in the New Concord area where Marcie not only enjoys
spending time with her friends and family, but also
cross-stitching, dancing, softball, golf, fishing, NASCAR,
interior decorating, and traveling. |

Tracy (Meighen) Martin |
|
Tracy
(Meighen) Martin
has been in the field of Occupational Therapy since 1994,
after receiving her associates in Applied Science from what
is now know as Zane State Community College. While at Zane
State, Tracy was president of her student occupational
therapy club and participated in many extracurricular
activities to raise money for the student organization.
After graduation, Tracy began working as an Occupational
Therapy Assistant and specialized in working with the
geriatric population with a focus on neurodevelopmental
treatment after a stroke. She practiced in several states,
including Ohio, West Virginia and North Carolina as a
traveling therapist and settled back in Cambridge in 1998.
Tracy continued to advance her occupational therapy skills
in areas such as wheelchair custom seating/positioning,
splinting, home modification/universal design, low vision
and industrial ergonomics. Tracy became a Certified
Ergonomics Assessment Specialist in 2003, graduated from the
University of Findlay with a Bachelor of Science in 2005 and
in 2006 finished her Masters of Occupational Therapy,
graduating at the top of her class. Tracy accepted a
position with Southeastern Med after completing her masters
and assumed the role of Occupational Therapy Coordinator.
Tracy has a strong interest in working with children and has
been a leader in the development of the Camp Go project,
which is a joint project involving Southeastern Med, the
Guernsey County Health Department and the Cambridge Area
YMCA.
Tracy was born and raised in
Cambridge and so it isn’t surprising that she and her
husband John have made Cambridge their home. Tracy is the
mother of three children, Ian, Rylee, Sidney.

Rachel (Wharton)
Milliner |
|
Rachel
(Wharton) Milliner is a 2003 graduate of The Ohio State
University where she received her bachelor of science in
Allied Medicine/Occupational Therapy. She is certified
through the National Board of Certification for Occupational
Therapy and licensed as an Occupational Therapist through
the Ohio Occupational Therapy Board. Rachel was born and
raised in Cambridge and continues to stay in Cambridge with
her husband Dustin and their son Trent. She has been with
Southeastern Med since 2003 and has gained experience in
many areas of Occupational therapy practice while at
Southeastern Med, including out-patient services, rehab,
acute care, home health and schools based practice. Rachel
feels she has found her niche at Southeastern Med’s Sports
Med and Rehabilitation Center though, where she is able to
work with all ages of patients from infants to
adult/geriatric.
Milliner says “I love
outpatient therapy because it is rewarding to be a part of a
patients success, whether it be a child meeting his/her
developmental milestones or an adult being able to return to
work or care for themselves again.”
Rachel is currently working
toward her hand certification. To become a Certified Hand
Therapist, (CHT), one must have at least 5 years of clinical
experience, 4000 hours or more of direct practice in hand
therapy and pass a comprehensive test of advanced clinical
skills and theory in upper quarter rehabilitation.

Carrie Neil |
|
Carrie Neil joined the
Southeastern Med rehab team in September 2008 as an
Occupational Therapist. She has twelve years experience in
the field of occupational therapy and is currently working
in the out patient clinic as well as providing occupational
therapy services to students attending Golden Rule and
Pomegranate schools. Carrie’s background and experience are
strong in the often-overlooked arena of mental health.
Carrie had worked with clients of all ages at the
Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare prior to joining the
Southeastern Med team. Carrie has an innate ability at
building a therapeutic rapport with the individuals she is
providing services and thinking outside the box for
potential solutions.
When asked why she chose
Southeastern Med to practice occupational therapy, Carrie
said, “I choose to
work at Southeastern Med because it was an opportunity to
work with a knowledgeable team of therapists who strive to
“heal” patients with compassion, skills and knowledge.”
Carrie graduated from
Muskingum Area Technical College (now Zane State) with an
associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 1996. She
then returned to school, graduating Cum Laude from West
Virginia University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree
followed by obtaining her Masters Degree in Occupational
Therapy from West Virginia University in May 2008. While
attending West Virginia University, Carrie was awarded the
Elizabeth Deveraux award, which is presented to the student
who demonstrates a pattern of advocacy for Occupational
Therapy.
Carrie is active in the
community. She is the Credit Committee Chairperson at
Southeastern Ohio Credit Union, a Mental Health Member
Support person for the Ohio Occupational Therapy
Association, a member of the American Occupational Therapy
Association, a member of the Recovery Advisory Council thru
Muskingum County Mental health and Recovery Services as well
as a volunteer at North Elementary School.
Carrie and her husband Mark
reside in Cambridge with their two children Rachel and
Tyler. In her spare time Carrie enjoys spending time with
her family and friends, as well as NASCAR, camping,
scrapbooking, football and traveling. |

Tammy Schwartz |
|
Tammy
Schwartz is a graduate of Shawnee State University,
graduating in 1989 and has been a certified occupational
therapy assistant (COTA) for nearly 20 years. Tammy brings a
wealth of knowledge and experience with her to Southeastern
Med. She started her career with Southeastern Med and during
her years of services she has gained experience in a variety
of areas. Tammy has worked in rehab and acute care, home
health and outpatient services; however, her passion and
heart lie in school based practice. Tammy provides
Occupational Therapy services to students in both Cambridge
City Schools as well as Rolling Hills. She is strong in
dealing with sensory processing issues, behaviors and
improving fine motor skills in students she works with to
enable them to achieve success in school.
Schwartz says, “I
love coming into work everyday because the kids are
wonderful and my coworkers are great! I can make therapy fun
while still accomplishing the student’s goals.”
Schwartz currently lives in
the Norwich area with her two daughters, Kristin and Allyson. |

Athletic Trainers |

Josh Knott |
|
Joshua
Knott has been an athletic trainer at Southeastern Med for
seven years. Joshua received his Bachelor of Arts from
Anderson University with majors in Athletic Training and
Physical Education. He then went on to receive his Master
of Arts from Western Michigan University in Sports
Medicine. Joshua has worked with USA Track and Field at the
1997 Championships and with the USTA 18 and 16 national
tennis championships in 1999 and 2000. Currently, Joshua is
the Athletic Training Clinical Supervisor with
responsibilities including the Performance Enhancement
Program, the PLUS program for discharged patients, post
offer screens for employment, and assistance with patient
rehabilitation in the clinic.
Joshua and his wife Rachel
reside with their three sons in Zanesville. Joshua enjoys
watching Detroit sports, spending time with his family, and
eating out. |

Michael Marston |

Michael
Marston has been employed as an athletic trainer with
Southeastern Med for two years. Mike graduated from
Muskingum College with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Health
Education. He then began working as an athletic trainer for
area high schools and currently serves as the head athletic
trainer at Meadowbrook High School.

Angie Nelson |

Angie
Nelson recently began her employment with Southeastern Med
after relocating back to New Concord. Angie had been an
athletic trainer with Columbus City Schools for the last
nine years and served as Rehabilitation Director at Well
Spring Chiropractic for four years prior. Angie graduated
from John Glenn High School in 1991 and earned her Bachelor
of Arts degree from Muskingum College in 1996. Angie is
currently the head athletic trainer at John Glenn High
School and is proud to return to her alma mater. She has
implemented a student athletic trainer program at John Glenn
to encourage students interested in the athletic training
field to get involved. |

Amy Zalenski |

Amy
Wright has been employed as an athletic trainer with
Southeastern Med for 4 years. Amy earned her Bachelor’s
degree in Education from The Ohio State University and
became licensed as a Certified Athletic Trainer. She is
currently the head athletic trainer at Cambridge High
School. Amy is extremely skilled at working with athletes
and coaches to help prevent and assess injuries. Amy also
has extensive rehabilitation knowledge that she uses to get
athletes back to sport safely. While working at
Southeastern Med, Amy was able to continue her education at
Muskingum College and graduate with her Masters of Arts in
Adult Education in 2008. Amy has also been honored in Who’s
Who of American Women 2007-2008 and Who’s Who in America
2009. |

Stephanie Bond |

Stephanie
Bond joined the team at Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation
in 2005 as a clerical specialist. She has 15 years
experience in the medical field. She is responsible for
scheduling, insurance certifications and authorizations and
billing.
Stephanie and her husband
Mike reside in Noble County with their daughter Samantha,
who is a senior at Shenandoah High School and Mid East
Career Center in the dental assisting program. She also has
a son Josh, who is employed at Lashley Tractor Sales and new
daughter in law Jessica, who is employed at Southeastern
Med. Stephanie enjoys camping, reading and watching Nascar. |

Theresa Rothwell |

Theresa
Rothwell has been employed at Sports Medicine and
Rehabilitation Department for the last year. She has
extensive experience in multiple health care settings and is
currently responsible for scheduling, insurance
certifications and authorizations and billing. Theresa
graduated from Sunnyside High School in Tucson, Arizona and
earned an Associates Degree from Southern Ohio College.
Theresa lives in Cambridge
with her husband Tom. They have two children, Thomas Jr (TJ)
who is employed with Buckingham Coal Company, and Megan, who
is employed in Dallas, TX as the supervisor of PT and OT for
Plano Nursing Care while pursuing her nursing degree.
Theresa enjoys spending time with her family, auctions,
crafts and taking
care of horses. |

Chris Cowgill |
|
Chris Cowgill is an outpatient
speech-language pathologist at Southeastern Med. She
received her Bachelors of Science degree in Speech and
Hearing Science from Bowling Green University and a Master
of Arts in Communication Disorders from the University of
Cincinnati. She has been a speech-language pathologist for
28 years working with preschool and school-aged children.
Chris holds a Certificate of
Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language and
Hearing Association. She is licensed by the Ohio Board of
Speech Language Pathology and Audiology and by the Ohio
Department of Education. Chris is a liason for the Ohio
School Speech Pathology and Educational Audiology
coalition. She is an active member of the Ohio
Speech-Language and Hearing Association and the American
Speech and Hearing Association.
Chris lives in Cambridge with
her husband Bill. They have 2 adult children, Morgan and
Seth, and one grandchild, Easton. |

Jenn Gazda |
|
Jenn is very excited to have become a
part of the team at SEORMC in April of 2009. She currently
resides in Bethesda, Ohio with her husband and two boys,
ages 4 and 7. She has been blessed to work in the rewarding
field of Speech-Language Pathology for twelve years,
receiving her under-graduate degree from The Ohio State
University with a Bachelor’s in Speech and Hearing Science.
Jenn then completed her Masters of Science degree in Speech
Language Pathology at Miami University of Ohio. Jenn has a
wide variety of experience ranging from pediatrics to adults
treating in multiple settings including nursing homes,
hospitals, developmental disability centers, home health,
schools and outpatient clinics. Currently, she works two
days/week covering outpatients at the Brick Church Road
facility located on State Route 660, as well as covers
inpatients at Southeastern Med. Jenn also works part time
serving home health and early intervention patients. Jenn
comments, “I want to thank all of my patients and their
families for the opportunity to work with them.” |

Hope Foraker |
|
Hope Foraker is a Speech-Language
Pathologist currently working with our outpatient pediatric
population at our Brick Church Road facility. She also
covers our inpatient population at the hospital as needed.
Hope is busy person as during her days she works full time
for the Ohio Valley Education Service Center, covering five
different schools.
Hope is a native to Cambridge was born and raised here,
graduating from Cambridge High School in 2003. She received
her Bachelor of Science degree in Hearing, Speech and
Language Sciences in 2006 from Ohio University. Hope then
graduated from the University of Akron in 2009 achieving a
Masters of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology.
Hope brings a special interest in our department with
experience in Augmentative Alternative Communication Devices
as well as Auditory-Verbal rehabilitation. Hope cites having
been born with a cleft palate and receiving Speech therapy
herself, she is able to relate to her patients and the
communication struggles they may have with their parents,
