Southeastern Med
Physical Therapists Earn Highest Distinction
The American Board of Physical
Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) of the American Physical
Therapy Association (APTA) has awarded specialist
certification in orthopaedics to four of the physical
therapists at Southeastern Med's Sports Medicine and
Rehabilitation:
Dominic Crock, PT, DPT, OCS
Shannon Harbaugh, PT, DPT, OCS
Ryan McConkey, PT, DPT, OCS
Joseph Ogle, PT, MPT, OCS
Obtaining Board certification is a
voluntary, rigorous process that sets these therapist
apart as experts in their field of specialty. In order
to be considered, candidates must first submit evidence
of required clinical practice in a specialty area. The
candidates must then pass a rigorous written
examination, demonstrating specialized knowledge and
advanced clinical proficiency in that specialty area.
This examination historically has a 60% pass rate.
Southeastern Med is extremely proud
to have four physical therapists on staff that decided
to pursue and successfully attain this prestigious
honor. There are currently 6710 licensed physical
therapists in Ohio and only 95 of them are Board
Certified Specialists in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy.
This equates to 1.4% of the physical therapy profession
in Ohio holding this honor and four of these physical
therapists are located at Southeastern Med in Cambridge,
Ohio. Board Certified Specialists are considered experts
in their field of specialty and should be the top choice
when choosing a healthcare provider. |
