Community Health Needs Assessment
On March 23, 2010 the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act established that nonprofit hospital organizations must commit to completing a community health needs assessment once every three years.
The needs assessment looks at health status, barriers to care and other demographic and social issues affecting people and organizations in our community. Health improvement plans that address the needs identified in the needs assessment ensure Southeastern Med remains focused on improving the health of the communities we serve.
SEORMC conducts these assessments annually by collecting insights from members of the local and regional community.
It’s important to SEORMC because it allows us to understand the specific healthcare needs in our community and enables us to tailor our services offerings to meet those needs. It also ensures we’re expanding appropriately and making intelligent investments in technology that directly benefit our family, friends and neighbors.
Over the last 30 years, healthcare costs have continued to rise. Since our goal is to provide the residents of Cambridge, Ohio, with high-quality, affordable healthcare, this project represents an important initiative to identify and explore our ever-changing local healthcare landscape.
No organization can address the multitude of healthcare issues alone. By working together, though, we can understand the issues and create a plan to address them.
