Golden Hour Award
Southeastern Med received Ohio Health’s Level One Trauma Golden Hour Award. The recognition honors Southeastern Med’s Emergency Room and Emergency Medical Services outstanding service of response and stabilization of a trauma patient. The “golden hour” refers to the sixty minutes following an accident or injury in which the chances of survival are most likely if treated appropriately by healthcare professionals. The long-term side effects of injury are also significantly decreased if treated during the “golden hour”.
American Cancer Society - Excellence in Mission
This award is for the organization that makes an extradordinary impact on the mission of the Amercian Cancer Society through health initiatives, advocacy or research. Southeastern Med was nominated because of thier involvment in the field of cancer provention and control or through an impactful leadership role within multiple mission priority areas: Information, Quality of life, Prevention and Early Detection, Advocacy, Disparities and Research.
National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers
Accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) is granted only to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest quality care to patients with diseases of the breast. Each center must undergo a rigorous evaluation and review of its performance and compliance with the NAPBC standards.
Joint Commission Accreditation
Joint Commission standards are the basis of an objective evaluation process that can help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance. The standards focus on important patient, individual, or resident care and organization functions that are essential to providing safe, high quality care. Earning thier seal of accreditation is one of the highest honors a hospital can achieve.
Ohio Hospital Association Safety Campaign
Ohio hospitals can be recognized for outstanding efforts in keeping their employees safe. Through a statewide hospital safety campaign led by the Ohio Hospital Association’s Safety Leadership Council, Southeastern Med received recognition for their facilities with credible employee safety records.
Vizient Hospital Engagement Network - Award for Outstanding Commitment
This award is given for a hospitals contributions to the Vizient Hospital Engagement Network (HEN) 2.0. Recognition is on participation and engagement, as well as overall improvement in reducing patient harm and readmissions.
Vizient Partnership for Patients Award
The Partnership for Patients initiative is a public-private partnership working to improve the quality, safety and affordability of health care for all Americans. Physicians, nurses, hospitals, employers, patients and their advocates, and the federal and State governments have joined together to form the Partnership for Patients.
Ohio Association of Senior Centers - Community Partnership Award
Southeastern Med is aware of the needs of low-income and other vulnerable persons and the community at large. Our team provides, alone or by partnering with other community groups, a wide-range of services that are intended to improve the health of individuals within the community. Often times, these free or discounted services benefit people who are uninsured and underinsured.
VHA Leadership Central PEAK Award for Excellence
The VHA Leadership Central PEAK Award for Excellence honors organizations that have achieved and sustained excellence in clinical performance. Southeastern Med was recently honored at the VHA’s Regional CEO/Executive Leader meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana. As part of the Partnership for Patients as a participant in VHA’s Hospital Engagement Network, Southeastern Med met the initiative goals by reducing hospital readmissions by 20% and reducing hospital-acquired harm by 40% over a two-year period. The medical center demonstrated this ability by anticipating and sustaining results for the first four quarters.
College of American Pathologists Accreditation
The College of American Pathologists (CAP's) Laboratory Accreditation Program accredits the entire spectrum of laboratory test disciplines with the most scientifically rigorous customized checklist requirements.
Commission on Cancer Accreditation
The Commission on Cancer (CoC), a program of the American College of Surgeons, recognizes cancer care programs for their commitment to providing comprehensive, high-quality, and multidisciplinary patient centered care. Through the CoC, Southeastern Med’s Cancer Center has access to reporting tools to aid in benchmarking and improving outcomes at your facility as well as educational and training opportunities, development resources, and advocacy.
National Hospital Organ Donation Campaign - Platinum Recognition
Regocintion is given at platinum, gold, silver, and bronze recognition levels for an organizations organ, eye, and tissue donation and registration efforts. Southeastern Med works closely with Donate Life Ohio to educate and register new donors.
Tina Kiser Cancer Concern Coalition Receives National Hospital - Charitable Services Program of Excellence Award
The American Hospital Association and Jackson Healthcare recently honored the local Tina Kiser Cancer Concern Coalition (TKC3) and Southeastern Med with the prestigious National Hospital Charitable Services Program of Excellence Award. Ten programs are selected annually recognizing exceptional work in setting new standards for giving back to their communities in maintainable ways.
HealthGrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award™
The Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ recognizes hospitals for providing outstanding patient experience based on 10 measures related to doctor and nurse communication, hospital cleanliness and noise levels, and medication and post-discharge care instructions. The award is based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient survey data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
