CANCER RESOURCE CENTERA CRC (Cancer Resource Center) has been a dream of the Cancer Committee for quite a while. That dream will be fulfilled in June, 2004. A CRC will be opened on 2West of the hospital in cooperation with the American Cancer Society. A CRC is a comprehensive library of information where trained volunteers can assist you in locating resources regarding all aspects of the disease, from prevention, to early detection, to treatment, and quality of life. Resources available include books, videos, brochures, and Internet access. Watch for the "Grand Opening" of the Cancer Resource Center in June. CANCERHELP CancerHelp is an easy-to-use touch screen software for patient education. Patients with cancer and their families need timely information to make important treatment and lifestyle decisions. CancerHelp supports patient education with easy access to Cancer.gov, the Web site of the National Cancer Institute, and the more than 100 sites with links on Cancer.gov. A kiosk in the hospital lobby offers easy access to this information 24 hours a day. |
