delay disease parkinsons

Southeastern Med and OhioHealth are proud to bring Delay the DiseaseTM to our community. This Parkinson’s-specific exercise program empowers participants to take control of their disease with daily exercise. Southeastern Med physical therapists are OhioHealth Delay the Disease-certified trainers offering classes at several locations throughout our community.

Fitness plans are adapted to all levels, valuable to patients in all stages of Parkinson's from newly diagnosed to progressed. The result is a program focused on symptom-specific exercises targeting:

  • Altered balance
  • Depression
  • Diminished voice volume
  • Rigidity (stiffness)
  • Stooped posture
  • Walking/ gait

This program is an important part of OhioHealth and Southeastern Med’s care continuum of neurologists and expert therapists working together to address the impairments and challenges associated with Parkinson’s disease.
