Southeastern Med Celebrates Physical Therapy Month, Promotes #ChoosePT Campaign
Cambridge, Ohio – Physical therapy can play an important role in improving functional strength, mobility, pain management, and overall quality of life for people of all ages and functional levels. Southeastern Med invites you to join us in celebrating National Physical Therapy Month during the month of October.
National Physical Therapy Month is recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as an annual opportunity to recognize the power of physical therapy to transform lives. The APTA is a professional organization that represents physical therapists, physical therapist assistants and students of physical therapy.
The highlight of National Physical Therapy Month 2017 is the public awareness campaign known as #ChoosePT. This movement educates the public on the risks associated with opioid use and promotes physical therapy as a safe alternative for managing pain.
Southeastern Med is proud to employ the area’s largest physical therapy staff and offer a diverse range of physical therapy services. Our highly skilled team includes 11 physical therapists and 8 physical therapist assistants. Our specialized services include inpatient physical therapy, outpatient physical therapy, orthopedic rehab, aquatic therapy, vestibular rebab, lymphedema management, industrial rehab, pediatric physical therapy, and a number of wellness programs.
Our team of physical therapy professionals works very closely with physicians, nurses, patients, patient families, and other health care professionals in order to provide comprehensive care in all aspects of a patient’s life. Whether treating a newborn baby, injured athlete, disabled worker, or an elderly patient wishing to improve quality of life, a physical therapist performs an evaluation in order to determine the appropriate course of care for each patient. An individualized treatment plan is developed for each patient, with functional goals established to prepare for discharge from physical therapy services.
“Southeastern Med’s physical therapy team continues to be a valuable asset to our community,” states Alicia Scherf, PT, DPT, Physical Therapy Clinical Leader at Southeastern Med. “We are proud to offer the highest quality care to our patients and their families during their physical therapy experience. We have an outstanding team of professionals who provide individualized care while creating a fun and uplifting atmosphere.”
