Southeastern Med is searching
for 2 full-time, highly qualified, board certified or board eligible
Pediatricians to join its medical staff and become an active part of our
community. Individuals must possess good interpersonal skills and be
able to use layman’s terms with patients.
This opportunity will require
independent work to be completed at only one medical center. and will
offer shared on-call responsibilities. We currently have 6
pediatricians on staff – 3 Internal Medicine/Pediatricians are nearing
capacity for new patients and 3 Pediatricians are nearing retirement.
Currently, shared on-call responsibility is 1 in 4. Our goal to recruit
2 Pediatricians will make shared on-call responsibility to 1 in 5.
Southeastern Med’s Childbirth
Center is a thriving Level 1 Nursery that was constructed in 2001. The
Childbirth Center staff consists of 33 highly trained members, and 3
board certified OB/GYNs perform vaginal and cesarean deliveries and care
for patients. Over 500 babies were delivered in the unit in 2008.
The medical center has
designated pediatric rooms and employs staff who are on duty 24/7 in the
Childbirth Center, Emergency Department, and Med/Surg Unit who are
specially trained to care for pediatric patients, including NRP and
PALS. Critically ill newborns, infants, and children are transferred to
children’s hospitals.
Medical staff support for
Pediatricians includes board certified surgeons who perform pediatric
endocoscopies and are on-call for our Verified Level III Trauma Center,
a board certified Pulmonologist and Sleep Medicine Specialist, and board
certified ENTs.
To assist pediatricians and
parents with children experiencing developmental delays, we have a
modern Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation facility with a skilled team
of Physical and Occupational Therapists. Many hold specialty
certifications, are equipped to work with children facing challenges,
and develop and offer programs and evaluations designed for children.
Pediatrician will be employed
with a guaranteed base salary with RVU incentive program, student loan
forgiveness, relocation assistance, signing bonus, and a comprehensive
benefits package including paid malpractice. We will consider
physicians right out of residency and qualified Visa candidates.
