Management of Blood Dyscrasias
As part of your care, the cancer specialists at Southeastern Med may determine that using chemotherapy is a necessary part of your cancer treatment plan.
Chemotherapy may sometimes induce a form of blood dyscrasias, or a blood disorder, which affects the level of platelets present in your blood. Lower platelet counts can result in excessive bleeding.
We’ll be with you throughout your cancer treatment experience, and if blood dyscrasias does occur, we’ll help you manage the condition through a carefully determined treatment plan, which may include medication, dietary changes, blood transfusions and phlebotomy.
