August 2001New PhysicianAs of August 1st we will be changing physicians at WorkPro. James Chlovechok, MD has resigned his position as Medical Director of WorkPro. We at WorkPro have enjoyed working with Dr. Chlovechok and have appreciated the services that he has enabled us to provide to the companies. We wish him well in his future plans. Dr. Janice Schram-Wayne, D.O. will assume the role of Director of Occupational Medicine for WorkPro, at Southeastern Med. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine at Kansas City, Missouri. In 1993 she opened her Family Practice in Byesville, Ohio. In 1996 she also became a Staff Physician at Cambridge Developmental Center. In 2000, she accepted the position of Medical Director and Health Commissioner of Cambridge/Guernsey County Health Department. Dr. Schram-Wayne is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. She is also a member of the American Osteopathic Association. Before opening her private practice in Byesville she worked in an Occupational Health Clinic in Marion, Ohio. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Schram-Wayne to WorkPro. Welcome…Amy Stevens has joined the staff at WorkPro as the Industrial Billing Specialist. Amy will be handling all the billing for services provided at WorkPro. If you have any questions regarding billing, please call Amy at (740) 439-8695. Flu Season is near! ! ! !Flu season is only a few weeks away. Influenza is a major cause of illness and death in the U.S. and leads on average to approximately 20,000 deaths and, 110,000 hospitalizations each year. Influenza can be eliminated or weakened by getting the flu vaccine. The flu season begins in October and continues through April. The flu vaccine becomes active in your body 2 weeks after receiving the vaccine and continues to provide you protection through out the flu season. WorkPro is available to administer the vaccine at your site and will accommodate all shifts. Prices are as follow: 1-50 $8.00 per employee 51-74 $7.50 per employee 75 or more $7.00 per employee For more information contact Kim at (740) 439-8714. WorkPro Seminar…We are looking forward to seeing you at the fall seminar on Friday, October 26th. The seminar will be held at the Cambridge Holiday Inn from noon until 4pm. Our topic will be "The New DOT Rules and Regulations and Federal Regulations". A light lunch will be provided. We are required to obtain the name of the Designated Employer Representative (DER) (the person who has the responsibility of ordering drug testing at the company and receiving the results). Injury Visits treated during 2nd half of 2000…When we reviewed the total number of injury visits that were treated during July 1, 2000 through December 31, 2000 there were a total of 1879 injury visits seen during this period of time. We treated approximately 20 different types of injuries. The most common injury that we found in the review was lumbar sprains. The most frequently treated injuries were:
