Now Hear This…

Were you aware that certain chemicals in the workplace can produce hearing loss on their own. However, when these chemicals are combined with exposure, the impact may do more damage than higher exposure to either hazard alone.

These chemicals are called ototoxins. The high priority ototoxins are Xylene, Styrene, Tolulene, Trichlorethylene, Carbon monoxide, and Lead and derivatives. To protect workers at ototoxic risk:
̃ Offer hearing tests, even if noise exposure is at permitted levels.
̃ Collect information on employees' solvent exposure.
    ̃ Reduce solvent exposures.
̃ Promote hearing protection device use among workers' exposed to ototoxins. For more information about the Hearing Conservation Program contact Brenda Watson-Dodd at 439-8467.

We want to hear from you…

We realize how hectic everyone's schedule is, however, to better serve you, we would like some feedback. Please take a few moments to complete the enclosed survey and return it to us either in the enclosed envelope or FAX it to us at 439-8538. Thank you.

Reduce absenteeism and lost productivity - offer the flu vaccine to your employees. Influenza can be stopped or weakened by getting a flu shot. If you do get sick, you will most likely have a much less severe case than those who did not get the shot . The flu shot begins offering you protection two weeks after injection. Flu season is October to April and the flu annually effects 40 million people; 150,000 are hospitalized and 20,000 die.

For you convenience, shots may be administered at your site or ours, and we are also available to accommodate all shifts. Prices are as follows:

    ̃ 1 - 50: $6.50 per employee
    ̃ 51 - 74: $6.00 per employee
