Providing Health Care for the Prevention of
Occupational Injuries and Illnesses |
February 2001
Cardiac Information...
In 1963, Congress recognized the need for education on heart health and
designated February as American Heart Month. Cardiovascular disease is the
number one killer of men and women in America.
New treatments have improved the possibility of survival and hope for
improved quality of life for persons who have suffered from cardiovascular
emergencies. Health organizations educating the public about preventing heart
disease and recognizing the warning signs of this disease offers the greatest
hope of making headway against heart disease.
You can help with the battle of heart disease and prepare yourself in the
fight against cardiovascular disease by being prepared for cardiac emergencies.
Maybe the nature of your job requires you to be prepared to handle medical
emergencies or you simply would like to increase your knowledge by learning the
skills of CPR and make yourself a more useful member to your business and
community. If so, you can contact Kim at (740) 439-8189 for more information or
to schedule a class.
Construction Continues on Cardiac Unit...
The new Southeastern Med Cardiac Unit is continuing on schedule. The unit
is estimated to open in March, 2001. The construction crew began the project in
November, 2000 and has continued progressing on time even though the weather
could have caused delays.
At this time, the walls have been painted and the flooring has been laid.
Equipment is expected to arrive late this month and the first patients may be
seen by early March.
