workers. We promote employer education and encourage them to pass the
information onto their employees. Know your signs and symptoms. Enclosed is a quick reference guide that you may post for your employees. Congratulations to You!According to the latest statistics on workplace injuries and illnesses, an all-time low has been achieved since 1970. A total of 5.9 million injuries and illnesses were reported in private industry workplace during 1998, resulting in a rate of 6.7 cases per 100 equivalent full time employees. Disorders associated with repeated trauma, CTS and noise-induced hearing loss accounted for 4% of the 5.9 million injuries and illnesses. This is a reduction from the 1997 rate of 7.1. also, the incidence rate for lost workday cases has decreased from 4.1 cases per 100 employees to 3.1 cases over the late eight years. Congrats to all that have been working towards this downward trend for injury and illness in the workplace. Your hard work really does get noticed. DOT Physical ExaminationsAny licensed physician can perform physical exams on your drivers needing commercial drivers' licenses, but many physicians are not aware of federal regulations governing these exams. Failure to properly perform and document these examinations may result in liability for both you and the physician, and could lead to fines for your company. At WorkPro, we are familiar with federal regulations and the unique physical and mental demands placed on commercial drivers. We Strive to be thorough in obtaining medical history, performing appropriate examinations, and documenting the results. This includes documentation of the ability to hear a forced whisper at five (5) feet, limiting certifications to one year for high blood pressure controlled by medication, obtaining medical records regarding diabetes and other diseases, and discussing our findings with you, the driver, and his/her private physician. Give us a call, 740-439-8191, to find out how e can assist you in keeping your employees and our roads safe. |
