NEW SERVICES:

Þ Employee Assistance Program (EAP):

        Then EAP is a counseling and information service, contracted by the employer through WorkPro. This program is designed to help the employer help his or her employee and their family with problems such as:

  •  Family Distress
  •  Parenting Distress
  •  Marital Problems
  •  Financial Difficulties
  •  Drug and Alcohol Dependency
  •  Gambling
  •  Work Related Stress
  •  Physical or Mental Illnesses

Þ Random Testing Selection services:

        WorkPro is now capable to do your random selection for your drug and alcohol testing program. If you are mandated by the Department of Transportation (DOT), drug tests are 50% of your total employee pool per year and random breath alcohol tests are 10% of your total employee pool per year. NATIONAL EMPLOYEE HEALTH AND FITNESS DAY:

Carol Emerson, RN, COHN at Colgate- Palmolive shares with us that May 19, 1999 is the official day of the observance of National Employee Health and Fitness 1999. Employees in corporate setting, schools and hospitals are scheduling worksite walks during the workday. Instead of eating that extra cookie at lunch, take a 10 minute walk and encourage your employees and co-workers to do the same! The challenge is on!!

BROCKWELL'S BULLETIN:

Þ Ergonomics stresses are one of the major causes of work-related injury. Frequently, even minor adjustments in worker position work-station set up can alleviate major problems.

Þ It never hurts to ask the employee who works at a particular station what changes might be made to decrease physical distress.
